eTA Philippines for Italian Citizens

eTA Requirements for the Philippines from Italy

Travelers of most nationalities, including Italian citizens, can currently enter the Philippines visa-free for short-term stays of up to 30 days that do not involve paid work in the country.

In most cases, Italian passport holders do not need to obtain a visa prior to their travel to the Philippines. However, a new visa waiver system to the Philippines will be installed soon, which will apply to the nationals of Italy.

Are Italian Nationals Eligible to Apply for eTA to Enter the Philippines?

For the time being, Italian nationals are not eligible to apply for an electronic travel authorization (eTA) for the Philippines since this visa waiver has not been launched yet. However, the Philippines government is expected to make the online visa available to most countries in the near future. Italy may be among those nations, although the final list is not yet confirmed.

All the information regarding the Philippines’ electronic travel permit for Italy will be shortly announced. Therefore, it is recommended that Italian citizens who intend to travel to the Philippines check the last updates about the visa waiver.

The Philippines’ eTA will significantly facilitate the immigration process in the country and remove any need to visit an embassy or consulate before traveling for Italian travelers.

Types of Philippines Visas Available From Italy

Although the majority of Italian passport holders can enter the Philippines visa-free, in some cases Italians need to obtain a visa for the Philippines. This depends on the purpose of their visit and the intended length of stay in the country.

All travelers who wish to stay in the Philippines for more than 30 days must apply for a visa prior to making any travel arrangements.

For temporary visits with purposes such as business, study, transit, medical treatment, or paid employment in the Philippines, Italian citizens need to obtain a non-immigrant visa.

This type of visa is also applicable to Italian travelers who are planning to stay in the Philippines for tourism for more than one month at a time.

Italian nationals who would like to become permanent residents in the country are eligible to apply for an immigrant visa for the Philippines.

All types of the Philippines visas can be obtained from the Embassy of the Philippines in Rome.

More information about the eTA will be available once the Philippines’ visa policy is updated.

How to Apply for a Philippines eTA From Italy?

The Philippines’ eTA application is an easy online process that only takes a few minutes to complete. Italian applicants will be asked to fill in the Philippines’ eTA online application form and provide some essential personal and passport details such as:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Date and place of birth
  • Country of passport
  • Passport number, issue date, and expiry date

Applicants from Italy will also be required to pay an eTA Philippines processing fee online using a debit or credit card before submitting the application.

In order to apply for a Philippines travel permit from Italy, candidates must verify that all the information they provide in the application form is correct. If this is not the case, the visa waiver approval may be delayed and even rejected in some cases.

Electronic visa waivers to the Philippines are usually processed within three business days. Once Italian candidates receive the travel authorization by email, they are required to print the Filipino eTA and present it at the Philippines’ port of entry along with a valid Italian passport.

Requirements for Philippines Visa Waiver as Italian National

Philippines visa waiver conditions for Italy include the following Philippines’ eTA entry requirements:

  • Having a valid Italian passport with expiry date at least 6 months after the intended return from the Philippines
  • Having a valid credit or debit card for paying the online electronic visa fee
  • Having an active email address to which the eTA approval will be forwarded

Even though Italian citizens are currently not eligible to apply for a visa waiver to travel to the Philippines, they are required to have the following documents:

  • A valid passport
  • A roundtrip flight itinerary
  • A hotel booking
  • School or company ID, if applicable
  • Two passport-sized photos to present at the border

It is important to note that the online visa waiver for the Philippines will not guarantee automatic entry into the country. The Philippines immigration officials may refuse admission of the Italian travelers who are found to violate the Philippines’ immigration laws or the country’s visitor regulations.
