The local government is in the process of introducing a Philippines electronic travel authorization for Indian nationals, known as a Philippines eTA.

The eTA is currently available only to Taiwanese passport holders, but the system will soon include citizens of India.

The Philippines eTA for Indian citizens is a convenient online system that will allow travelers to easily obtain a permit to travel.

They will be able to apply from the comfort of their homes or offices in a matter of minutes, without having to visit a Philippine embassy or consulate.

Types of Philippines Visas for Indian Nationals

Indian passport holders require a visa to enter the Philippines, regardless of the length of stay and the purpose of their trip.

The Philippines offers a number of different visa types, including:

  • A tourist visa to be used when traveling for tourism, leisure, or family visits
  • A non-immigrant visa that can be used for working or studying in the country
  • An immigrant visa for applicants with specific professional skills or qualifications that can benefit the country
  • A resident retiree’s visa that allows permanent residence in the Philippines

Can Indian passport holders obtain a Philippines visa on arrival?

The Philippines offers a visa on arrival to nationals of select countries. However, Indian travelers are not eligible for this type of visa.

Indian travelers are required to obtain a visa suitable for the purpose of their trip before traveling to the Philippines.

What Are the Philippines eTA Requirements for Indian Citizens?

Indian passport holders must meet the Philippines eTA conditions for India in order to be able to apply for the travel authorization.

All applicants must have an Indian passport with a minimum validity of 6 months after the date of leaving the Philippines. If the passport expires earlier, Indian candidates must renew the document and apply using the new passport.

Likewise, dual nationals are required to enter the Philippines with the same passport they used to apply for an eTA.

Additionally, it is necessary to have a valid debit or credit card to pay the eTA Philippines processing fee, as well as an email address to receive the eTA.

It is important to keep in mind that eTA Philippines for Indian nationals is only valid for trips with the following purposes: tourism, leisure, and family or friends visits.

How to Apply for a Philippines eTA from India

To apply for a Philippines eTA from India, candidates will have to complete the Philippines’ online visa waiver application form and enter personal and passport details, including name, nationality, date of birth, passport number, and the expiry date of the passport.

Applicants must make sure that all the information in the form is correct and corresponds to the details of the passport.

It will also be necessary to pay a non-refundable eTA Philippines processing fee. Payment will be done through a secure online system using a credit or debit card authorized for online transactions.

What should Indian candidates do after applying for a Philippines visa waiver?

Indian applicants will need to print out the Philippines visa waiver and show it at the border crossing along with a valid passport.

Travelers from India must also be able to present the following documents:

  • A return or onward ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds to finance their trip
  • Hotel booking

Please note that the Philippines eTA for India will not automatically guarantee the right to enter the country. Philippine immigration officials may still refuse entry to passengers who are violating the Philippines’ immigration laws and regulations.

Processing time for the Philippines eTA from India

Indian travelers will obtain their eTA for the Philippines by email within three business days of applying.

If there are any errors in the application, the process may take longer as applicants will be asked to fill out and submit a new form.
